Tickle Me Elmo was released in time for the holiday season of 1996, and quickly became a hot ticket item with stores selling out and parents paying up to $1000 under the table to obtain this newest fad for their children.

In 2006, Fisher-Price released TMX Tickle Me Elmo (the X stands for ten, as the TMX version was released exactly ten years after the original). TMX Elmo has a few tricks up his sleeve. If you know just the right place to tickle him, you can get some hilarious reactions.

The three prime tickle spots are located under the chin, on the stomach, and on top of t he foot. Tickling any one of these places unleashes a response that makes the wiggles of ten years ago seem boring. Elmo slaps his belly, falls to the floor, gets up and falls again, and demands, “Again! Again!”

Second and third tickles cause ever more outlandish reactions until finally Elmo lies on his back, laughing and helplessly slapping the floor.

Then in 2008, the TMX Extra Special Edition Elmo came along, and things got even funnier. This Elmo had “secret spots” and if you found them he would perform even beyond his usual range of standard tricks. For instance, if you lift Elmo’s arm up and tickle his belly at the same time, he’ll sing a song. If you raise his right arm, push his face down to his toes, and tickle his feet, you’ll give him the hiccups.

And that’s not all Elmo can do. For more information and clues on his various routines, visit Mahalo for TMX Extra Special Edition Secrets.
